Is Ultahost a Scam? My $800 Product Review Experience Exposed
As a content creator, I’ve worked with numerous brands and companies over the years. However, my experience with Ultahost has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing to date. In this post, I’ll share my detailed experience and why I believe creators and businesses should think twice before working with Ultahost.

How It Started: The Collaboration Agreement
In August, I was approached by a representative from Influencer Friends, acting on behalf of Ultahost. They requested that I create a detailed product review showcasing Ultahost’s services. After some initial discussions, I agreed to the terms, which included a payment of $800 for my work. Ultahost provided me with the necessary login details and access to their platform to complete the review.

Delivered: A Comprehensive Review
I spent a day and a half creating a 6.5-minute in-depth review of Ultahost. This video covered everything from their features to the usability of their services. I ensured the review was unbiased and met all the requirements outlined by Ultahost. The final product was polished, professional, and ready for their approval. Here’s the original review I delivered: Watch the video here .
What Went Wrong: Payment Refused
After submitting the video, I followed up with Ultahost to receive the agreed payment. To my surprise, they claimed they no longer wanted to proceed with the collaboration. Their reasoning was vague, citing “unusual view patterns,” which I strongly disagree with. My channel, Freedominhours, has always adhered to YouTube’s policies and practices.

Despite numerous follow-ups via email to both Ultahost and Influencer Friends, I received no further communication. Ultahost effectively ignored my attempts to resolve the situation and left me unpaid for my work.
Why This Matters: A Warning to Creators
This experience highlights the risks that creators face when working with companies that fail to honor their agreements. It’s not just about the $800 owed—it’s about the time, effort, and trust that was broken. Creators rely on ethical partnerships to sustain their work, and situations like this can undermine our industry.
Below is an example of one of dozens of emails I sent to Ultahost with no response:
Key Takeaways
- Always ensure contracts with brands include clear payment terms and protections.
- Beware of companies like Ultahost that fail to honor agreements.
- Research potential partners by reading reviews and checking for any red flags.
- Don’t hesitate to share your experiences to help others avoid similar issues.
